The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Ayawaso Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mohammed Quaye, has tendered his resignation citing ill health.

In a letter addressed to President Akufo-Addo, he explained that his current health condition has significantly hampered his ability to fulfill his duties and responsibilities effectively, despite his best efforts.

Mohammed Quaye clarified that his illness requires extended medical treatment and a period of rest and recuperation.

While expressing his desire to continue serving as the MCE, he acknowledged that it would be in the best interest of the Municipality to have someone who can uphold the high standards and efficiency demanded by the government.

Mohammed Quaye assured the President of his commitment to facilitate a smooth transition of knowledge to his successor, ensuring the continuous operation of the Municipal Assembly.
