Member of Parliament for Bolgatanga Central Constituency, Isaac Adongo, has stated that the digital innovations embarked by the Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia are system improvements, not the much-touted achievements in digitalisation.
He explained that most of the initiatives introduced by Dr Bawumia are little improvements to existing transformational projects that were undertaken by the NDC in digitalising the Ghanaian economy.
"We need to differentiate completely between digitalisation and system improvements...all of the things we are talking about are based on this major transformational agenda pursued by the NDC under the leadership of Spio-Garbrah and John Dramani Mahama," he said.
According to him, the digital innovations by Dr Bawumia are unrealistic and no different from existing projects.
"If today you decide to use the biometric passport with another biometric document, purposely what you are doing is to change the travel document from one biometric document to another, what is the euphoria about this?" he quizzed.
The Bolgatanga Central MP said the digitalisation process initiated by the Vice President was to perpetuate corruption and amass wealth at the expense of Ghanaians.
"If you computerise the system you eliminate corruption by eliminating human interruptions, so where are we with the corruption perception index which is an index that is measured by international businessmen who are able to give information that for this and that activity, they pay more bribes in Ghana to access it than in Nigeria, Côte d'Ivoire and Benin.
"In fact, John Mahama's worst performance is better than Akufo-Addo best performance on the corruption perception index," he said on Starr FM's Morning Starr.

Mr Isaac Adongo added that Dr Mahamudu Bawumia wanted to define system improvements as digitalisation by using "big, catchy words and flamboyant words" to make it seem important.
