Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is 'reasonably confident' of victory at the end of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential primary, currently ongoing nationwide.

Bawumia, widely tipped to emerge victorious in today's contest stated this after casting his vote at the Party's headquarters at Asylum Down.

Speaking to the media, he urged all members of the party to maintain a peaceful atmosphere throughout the entire process.

"So far it is being smooth. So we will wait for the process to complete across the country and we will see what will happen. I’m reasonably confident of victory, but we will wait and see."

Bawumia is one of four candidates vying for the NPP flagbearer slot. The other candidates are Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong, former Agriculture Minister Dr Owusu Afriyie Akoto, and former Mampong MP Francis Addai-Nimoh.

Meanwhile, Dr. Mustapha Hamid has endorsed Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for the NPP flagbearer position.

He said that Bawumia stands the best chance of securing victory in the 2024 presidential election.

While acknowledging the competitiveness of the ongoing election, Dr. Hamid expressed confidence in Bawumia's ability to lead the NPP to success.

He highlighted qualities such as experience, competence, and charisma as key attributes that make Bawumia a strong candidate.

"Bawumia is the only candidate who has a realistic chance of winning," remarked Dr. Hamid after casting his ballot.
