The Communications Director of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi has called on party members to remain vigilant and composed as the process of results collation begins.

Speaking at a press briefing on Saturday evening at the party headquarters in Adabraka, Accra, Sammy Gyamfi emphasized that members should wait for official results at the collation centres before any celebrations take place.

“Our polling agents and supporters must accompany the EC officials with the ballot boxes and materials to the various collation centres,” he said. “This is where Ghanaians, especially NDC supporters, must join our observers to safeguard the process.”

“Our leader wants all of us to stop the jubilation until the results are duly collated and declared by the EC. This is not the time to celebrate,” he added.

He further accused the NPP of deploying what he termed a “rigging machinery” to influence the outcome of the elections. “We have picked intelligence that the NPP has now activated their rigging machinery to its full potential. They will be trying to snatch ballot boxes, swap them, and manipulate pink sheets. When you’re dealing with a group of people who are desperate and vicious at the same time, you need to remain vigilant,” Mr Gyamfi warned.
