The People’s National Convention (PNC) says its given the Electoral Commission (EC) 48 hours ultimatum to reinstate its disqualified presidential aspirant, Dr. Edward Mahama or the party will have no choice but to file a writ to halt any further exercise of the commission.
Chairman of the party, Bernard Mornah submitted it was beyond doubt the EC erred in the disqualification of their candidate and must rectify its mistake or risk being slapped with a restraining order.
He mentioned the General Secretary, Women’s Orgianser and other executives are working to have their candidate on the ballot adding their manifesto will be unveiled after the court action.
Dr. Hassan Ayariga’s All People’s Congress(APC), Dr Edward Mahama of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Dr Agyenim Boateng of the United Front Party (UFP), Mr Kofi Akpaloo of the Independent People’s Party (IPP), Kwabena Adjei of the Reformed Patriotic Democrats (RPD), Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) have all been disqualified.
The others include: Dr Henry Herbert Lartey of the Great Consolidated Popular Party (GCPP), Mr Richard Nixon Tetteh (United Development Systems Party), Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Mr Ward Brew of the Democratic People’s Party (DPP), Mr Alfred Kwame Asiedu Walker, an independent candidate, Akua Donkor of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP) and Mr Akwesi Adae Odike of the United Progressive Party.
