Embattled Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has refused to resign despite the pressure from his party Zanu-PF.
In his first address minutes ago after the unrest in Zimbabwe, Robert Mugabe 93 said he will preside over the ruling party Zanu-PF congress in December.
Per his statement, Robert Mugabe will stay on as Zimbabwe's leader at least until the ruling Zanu-PF's congress in December is held.
His comments come after Zanu-PF sacked him as the leader of the party and appointed Emmerson Mnangagwa.
It is not entirely clear how Robert Mugabe can preside over Zanu-PF's congress next month, following his dismissal as party leader.
