Director of Operations at the Progressive Peoples Party(PPP), Nana Ofori Owusu has said, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission(EC) Charlotte Osei damaged his political career.

Nana Ofori who contested in the Parliament elections at the Efutu Constituency in 2016 and lost said, he believes the EC contributed to his defeat.

Speaking on Citi FM 's Big Issue program, Nana Ofori said, while he was busy battling with the EC boss, for his Presidential Candidate, Papa Kwesi Nduom who was disqualified to be allowed to contest, his opponents were busy campaigning and telling the public that the PPP was no longer on the ballot papers.

"The EC boss practically hurt our campaign and that was the key reason we lost", he stressed.

After gathering all resources and energy he said, they had to also battle with Charlotte Osei "the referee who became a player".

According to him, the PPP is still suffering from the scars of the EC boss' "illegal activities" towards the party in 2016, "She has done a lot of damage to me personally as well as my career as a politician", he stated.

On the issue of the petition against the EC boss by some workers, he said, the people have the right to petition and he would have actively participated if he was a staff of the EC.

"She must go through the process to be sure whether she is competent or not. And she must pay for whatever offense she has committed", he stated.

Just as she was unfair to the PPP, Nana Ofori said, he was certain the EC boss has been unfair to workers under her.
