Leader of the New Force, Nana Kwame Bediako, popularly known as Cheddar, has unveiled a plan to change Ghana’s economy, estimating that the country will produce $4.7 trillion in goods and services in ten years.
Speaking at the 12-pillar manifesto launch, he said, “If we push every region inside out and realize what sort of wealth that can be created there and project it in the next 10 years, Ghana will have an economic output of $4.7 trillion.”
According to Cheddar’s vision, industrialization and agro-processing will have a major role in creating 8 million jobs during the same time frame. “We will also create 8 million jobs in a decade,” he said, adding that the Ashanti and Western regions’ resources will be the driving force behind this. “Ashanti is 240 billion worth of gold, minerals, lithium, and arable state for us to create the biggest potential of farming, agro-processing,” he explained.
Additionally, Cheddar criticized Ghana’s dependence on foreign refineries and expressed concern about the current state of the oil industry. “We produce 200,000 barrels of oil per day in Ghana. All we have to do is build our refineries, and we will have competitive prices and save the losses in the economy,” he emphasized.
