The office of Ghana’s President-elect, John Mahama, has dismissed a list circulating on social media that claims to announce appointments for his incoming administration.

In a statement released on Monday, December 16, 2024, Mahama’s Special Aide, Joyce Bawah Mogtari, described the list as “false and unauthorised.”

She urged the public to ignore it, stressing that only official announcements from Mahama’s office should be trusted.

The office clarified that while a 10-member Transition Team has been officially named to oversee the power transfer, no other appointments have been made public.

The team, led by Julius Debrah, includes key figures such as Johnson Asiedu Nketia and Dr Valerie Sawyer.

Their role is to ensure a smooth and organised transition in line with Ghana’s Presidential (Transition) Act.

To prevent the spread of false information, the public is advised to rely solely on verified updates from the President-elect’s office.
