The Accra High Court hearing the suit filed by the People's National Convention (PNC) challenging the disqualification of its flagbearer, Dr Edward Mahama from the upcoming presidential elections has set Thursday November 10, 2016, to determine the case.
Dr Mahama was disqualified, as part of thirteen others, from contesting the elections because of some anomalies on his nomination forms which according to the EC breached some electoral laws of Ghana.
Displeased with the decision, the PNC on October 28, 2016, filed a suit at the Accra High Court praying the court to quash the EC's decision.
The court at the first hearing of the suit last Tuesday adjourned the case to today and fine the EC GHC500 after its lawyer, Thaddeus Sory failed to make it to the court on time.
After hearing oral arguments of the parties, presiding judge Justice Afua Norvisi Ayene adjourned to November 10 to give a ruling on the matter.
