Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh popularly known as NAPO, says he holds no interest in leading the party in the 2028 presidential elections.
Addressing the media on the sidelines of the NPP’s meeting held on Wednesday, April 16, NAPO, who partnered Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 presidential election on the ticket of the NPP, said he is focused on supporting the party’s campaign and has no plans to pursue any future leadership bid.
"Me personally, I am not running in 2028." My interest now [and] immediately is to get a united party for a flagbearer,” Dr Opoku Prempeh said.
Dr Opoku Prempeh served in the former government as Minister for Education and later as the Minister for Energy.
At the time, he was the Member of Parliament for Manhyia South Constituency in the Ashanti Region.
