President John Mahama has nominated 71 individuals to be approved as District Chief Executives (DCEs).
The nominations are in accordance with Article 243(1) of the 1992 Constitution and Article 20(1) of the Local Government Act, 2016 (Act 936).
This was contained in a statement dated March 26, signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, and addressed to the Minister of Local Government, Chieftaincy, and Religious Affairs.
Meanwhile, the nomination for the Kpando District is still pending.
The nominees are distributed across various regions as follows:
Volta Region – 18 nominees
Oti Region – 9 nominees
Ahafo Region – 6 nominees
Bono Region – 10 nominees
Bono East Region – 9 nominees
Savannah Region – 5 nominees
North East Region – 6 nominees
Western North Region – 9 nominees
