President John Mahama says he will receive the Operation Recover All Loots (ORAL) report next week.
He indicated that findings will be forwarded to the relevant investigative organisations to commence inquiries into individuals who have misappropriated the nation’s resources.
“Next week, the ORAL Committee that I set up is going to present its report to me, and I’ll refer it to the investigative organisations to start their investigations against people who have misappropriated the resources of this nation.”
President Mahama said this in his address in Cape Coast at a durbar of the Chiefs and People of the Central Region during his Thank You Tour.
The President announced plans to implement a strict system of accountability and introduce a code of conduct for individuals in positions of trust.
He made it clear that his administration will not only hold officials from the previous regime accountable but will also demand the same level of integrity from his appointees.
“As we investigate those who have just left office, and we carry out our Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL), those who are current office bearers should also know that they will be held to the same standard as we are holding the past regime," he said.
Using a popular Ghanaian proverb to admonish his appointees, the President said: “the stick that is used to beat Takyi, is the same stick that will be used on Baah”.
