Former Vice Chancellor of the University of Professional Studies (UPSA), Prof Joshua Alabi, has said he will only run for President 2020 based on the will of God.

Speaking to online news portal, Ghanaweb, Prof Joshua Alabi said “Our party is reorganizing now and we want to finish the reorganisation. When we finish the reorganisation, those interested will come out and I pray to God that God will also give me the energy, if God thinks I should come out,”

Editor-in-chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Kweku Baako Jr., and Managing Director of State Transport Company Nana Akomea have all said former President John Mahama has a greater chance of winning the NDC flag bearer slot should he decide to contest.

However after the defeat of the National Democratic Congress in the 2016 election, some bigwigs in the NDC have express interest in contesting the flagbearership for the 2020 general election.

Amongst NDC bigwigs wanting to lead the party are former Trade Minister Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, former CEO of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) Sylvester Mensah, former Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, Goosie Tanoh, Minority Leader Haruna Iddrisu and Second Deputy Speaker Alban Bagbin.

Unconfirmed reports suggest Former President John Mahama is considering a comeback. His family is however said to be against the move.
