NDC delegates in the Assin South constituency are unhappy about the GHS10 given to them as allowance for food and transportation by the party’s executives in the constituency.

The delegates of Assin South who are mostly farmers have expressed disappointment in the party's executives and said it would have done them a lot of good if they had gone to their farms rather than participate in the primaries.

Some of the delegates told Adom News reporter, Alfred Amoh that the allowance is meager and clearly not happy about the figure.

“Assin South is a farming community and today being a Saturday, we could have made more than GHS10 from selling our products from the market. We have come to endorse a particular candidate so why do we have to waste money to get here and be given this amount of money for food and transportation,” an angry delegate said.

Over 260,000 delegates are expected to cast their votes in all the constituencies.

The ongoing presidential primaries of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Saturday, is progressing steadily.
Seven aspirants are contesting for the flagbearer position.

They are former President John Dramani Mahama, Second Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Alban Kingsford Sumani Bagbin; former Vice Chancellor of University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), Prof. Joshua Alabi; former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Mr. Sylvester Mensah.

The rest are former Minister of Trade and Industry, Mr. Ekwow Spio-Garbrah; businessman, Alhaji Nurideen Iddrisu, and a cadre, Mr Goosie Tanoh.

Many have tipped former President John Mahama to win the race and lead the party into the 20202 elections.
