The Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Robert Kutin Junior, has passed away.
Mr Kutin is said to have been pronounced dead around 10:00 pm in Accra on Sunday, December 22, 2024.
The late chairman had been battling an undisclosed illness for the past seven months, which kept him away from active involvement in the 2024 election campaign.
Isaac Mensah, popularly known as Mr. Blankon, the Central Regional Communications Officer for the NPP, confirmed the news to the media in an interview
In his statement, Mensah expressed the party's shock and sadness over the loss of their leader, who played a pivotal role in strengthening the party in the region.
The late Robert Kutin Junior first became Central Regional Chairman of the NPP in 2014 and successfully retained his position in 2022 after defeating Joseph Kobina Essibu in a highly contested election.
Mr. Kutin’s dedication to the party and commitment to its growth made him a respected figure within the NPP and beyond.
Funeral arrangements are expected to be announced in due course.
