NPP mourns John Kumah, directs party flags to fly to half-mast

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) is mourning the death of Ejisu Member of Parliament (MP) John Kumah.

John Kumah, 45, who doubles as Deputy Minister for Finance died on Thursday, March 7, 2024, after a brief illness.

In a statement signed by the NPP General Secretary, Justin Frimpong Koduah, said the party was saddened by the unfortunate incident.

The NPP also extended heartfelt condolences to his family, particularly his wife and children, as well as the people of Ejisu.

In honour of his memory, all party flags have been directed to fly at half-mast for the next seven days.

“Even before his ascension to national political limelight, Hon. Kumah showed signs of leadership in his teenage years as he was elected School Prefect for the Opoku Ware School

“He was an energetic party stalwart whose relentless activism was instrumental in the formation of Young Patriots, a youth group that championed the cause of the party from 2009 to 2016,” the NPP said in a statement.

Meanwhile, some key figures including the President and the vice President, the Majority leader have all paid their tribute to the late MP.
