The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has called on 'those who lost ' in Saturday's elections across the country, urging them to 'leave it behind'.

Delegates of the NPP across the country went to the polls on Saturday, January 27, 20234, to vote for their parliamentary candidates in constituencies with sitting MPs.

KT Hammond and Francis Asenso-Boakye won the primaries in Adansi-Asokwa and Bantama respectively, Sylvester Tetteh also won in the Bortianor Ngleshie Amafrom constituency.

Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh won the parliamentary primary for Nsawam Adoagyiri Constituency; Greater Accra Regional Minister, Henry Quartey won the Ayawaso Central Constituency parliamentary primary while Ursula Owusu-Ekuful retained her candidature in Ablekuma West constituency

The Bawimia in a statement on Saturday urged the unsuccessful aspirants to leave it behind, consider the supreme interest of the party, and work closely with the elected parliamentary candidates to secure success for the NPP.

According to him, despite their defeats, the Party needs their support and contributions to win majority seats and break the eight-year cycle of power in the 2024 general elections.

Bawumia also congratulated the successful aspirants.

"I congratulate all those who have been elected today by the delegates of our party to participate in the December elections on the ticket of the NPP"

The elections were supervised by the Electoral Commission (EC).
