The North East Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party has suspended two party executives in the Walewale constituency and a member over misconduct and violation of the party’s constitution.

Second Vice Chairman, Alhassan Suleman, Financial Secretary, Imoro Tonzua Mahamudu and a member, Megida Saaka Samusi, have all been suspended in accordance with article 4 clause 7(1a), (e), (f) and (g) of the party’s constitution.

In a letter to the national chairman of the party announcing the suspension of the members, the party stated four reasons for the suspension of its members.

The reasons are; violation of duties as a member, breach of the duty to uphold party policies publicly, bringing the party into disrepute or public ridicule and creation of discord or factionalism within the party, actions detrimental to the party’s reputation and integrity.

“I regret to inform you that the following party member and constituency executives are hereby suspended from their duties, effective immediately,” Regional Chairman Fuseini Nurudeen said.

The letter said the suspended members are to refrain from participating in any political activities of the party until a finality on their status is determined.

The letter said the Disciplinary Committee of the party will conduct further investigation and deliberate on the suspension of the members until which the suspension remains in force.

“This suspension will remain in effect pending further investigation and deliberation by the Disciplinary Committee of the party. You will be notified of any changes to your status as soon as they are available.

“You are directed to hand over all the party property to the constituency chairman,” the letter added
