One of Ghana’s small opposition political parties has suspended its General Secretary, Janet Nabla, for alleged incompetence, misconduct and insubordination.

In a press statement, the People’s National Convention (PNC) explained that the decision was taken after acting on a petition filed by a member of the party.

According to the PNC, the General Secretary failed to honour an invitation to appear before a disciplinary committee of the party for the petition hearing.

The statement signed by the party’s National Chairman, Moses Dani Baah, has urged media houses not to deal with Madam Nabla as an executive member of the party.

"Though a painful decision, the NEC of the PNC deems it appropriate to adopt this decision to protect the image of the party in the midst of all the negative press surrounding the party emanating from the conduct of the former General Secretary, Madam Janet Nabla," the statement read in part.
