Sam George, the Member of Parliament for Ningo-Pram Pram, has condemned the government's announcement that 208 vehicle are missing from the presidency.
Government has accused Mahama-era officials of illegally stealing the cars and has set up a task force to retrieve them.
But in a Faceboook post on Thursday, Sam George described the assertion as "obnoxious".
He said as government officials, they were given the option to buy their vehicles older than two years and that many of his colleagues took advantage of that provision.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) MP said the government ought to have a database of the cars and should be able to determine who has possession of them.
"We have a government in place. Their mandate is to fix the problems not come whining to us the public. They should have the database of the so called missing cars. The apparent state sponsored thuggery which has been regularised after public outcry by the chief of staff is no excuse and certainly not the way to go," he said.
Sam George challenged the government to publish details of the cars if indeed they are missing.
"Mr Government, publish the make, chassis number, last known registration number and colour of the vehicles. The sensationalism is needless and lends credence to a deliberate attempt to smear all former appointees of the past administration. Publish the details if your claims are true," he said.
