Former High Commissioner to UK, Victor Smith has urged NDC party faithfuls to vote out all executives of the party to make way for new ones in their upcoming congress.
He observes "There is the need for fresh and dedicated people to emerge to handle the affairs of the party. We should start with some die hard selfless people to take the party from where we find ourselvesâ€.
Mr Smith is also calling for a complete overhaul of the party's machinery to make it more effective and responsive to the needs of the electorates, in order to turn around its abysmal performance in the 2016 elections.
In what appears to be yet another endorsement of former President Mahama to lead the party again, the former High Commissioner says only Mahama should be allowed to retain his position as flagbearer.
Speaking on Accra based Citi Fm, he noted "at the Presidential level, it’s a contest between other parties and if we want to be in the driving seat for 2020, then our best choice is John Mahama."
He stressed that, Mahama has already been there and performed well except he had some challenges which could be addressed.
