The Ghana Police Service has dismissed claims circulating on social media suggesting that Malik Basintale, Deputy National Communications Officer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has been declared wanted.
In a statement on September 5, the police denied that the claim, stating that it is false.
“We wish to categorically state that the claim is false,” the statement read.
“We, therefore, urge the public to disregard it and treat it with the contempt it deserves.”
On September 1, 2024, Malik Basintale stated during a campaign that pork is the favourite meal of Dr Bawumia, although he is a Muslim.
"Alhaji Bawumia's favourite meat is pork despite being a Muslim," he stated.
The attention of the Ghana Police Service has been drawn to a claim circulating on some social media platforms to the effect that Malik Basintale has been declared wanted by the Police.
