Algeria have sealed qualification to the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2019) after a 1-0 win over Senegal.
With both countries picking up wins in their first game, all needed 3 points to qualify automatically even with a game to spare.
It was a first half of few chances as both sides went close to open the scoring.
However, the first half ended goalless. Algeria started the second half with some firepower.
First Galatasaray midfielder Sofiane Feghouli went close but missed the post by just inches.
The breakthrough finally came in the 49th minute when Esperance midfielder Youcef Belaili hammered home the all-important goal.
Senegal went in search of the equalizer but the Algerians held on to record a victory.
This sends them top of Group C with 6 points and Senegal lie second with 3 points.
Senegal with play Kenya in their final group game and a win or a draw could send them through to the round of 16.
