Asante Kotoko opponents in the CAF Confederation Cup, Zesco United have signed Japanese midfielder Kosuke Nakamachi from Yokohama F-Marinos.
The 33-year-old signed a contract with the Copperbelt-based outfit after passing a mandatory medical on Friday afternoon.
Early this month, he ditched J-League out-fit F-Marinos in favour of a move to the Zambian Premier League.
Nakamachi announced on his Instagram that he will not renew his contract with Japanese premier league side Yokohama F-Marinos.
The veteran who joined Marinos in 2012 has become the first Japanese to play in Zambia since Yo Matsuo, the former City of Lusaka striker who currently manages Tokyo Verdy’s junior youth squad.
Nakamachi who refused a 2-year contract extension with Mariners was the 5th Highest paid player at his J League club in the 2018 season and according to Japanese Statistics website http://nbakki.hatenablog.com.
He was earning $31,000 a month and with his contract ending on the 31st of January 2019 has now augmented the Zesco United squad for the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Japanese midfielder will be watching his side from the stands this weekend when they take on rivals Nkana FC in their CAF Confederation Cup Group C opener at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium on Sunday at 16:00 local time.
He is expected to be part of the Zesco United contingent that will travel to Ghana to take on Asante Kotoko in the second game of the Confederation Cup at the Baba Yara Stadium on Wednesday, February, 13.Â
