Ashantigold goalkeeper George Owu says he has been able to prove and will continue to prove his doubters wrong with his performances for the Obuasi club.
Owu who will turn 35 years next week suggested that his heroics against Hearts of Oak has kept his critics mute.  He was instrumental as the miners beat Hearts 1-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Wednesday.
Â
“Some people say I am old but I was able to prove to them in the game against Hearts of Oak that I am still good,†Owu pointed out.
“I’m not old as you can see, I believe you all saw it yourself and people must stop calling me as an old playerâ€
Owu has vast experience both locally and International as a goalkeeper. He was a keen member of the Black Stars squad that qualified for the 2006 World Cup and has also played for Egyptian Club El-Masry.
He  kept the post for Kumasi Asante Kotoko between 2005-2007 but signed for Ashanti Gold at the beginning of the 2nd round of the league from Sekondi Hasaacas.
Many questioned the decision of Ash gold to sign him, saying he had nothing good to offer again considering his age.
He has help Ashgold after a miserable start to the league which placed them in the relegation zone. They are unbeaten in their last four GPL games and now sit 13th on the table, out of the relegation zone.
