Avram Grant, has resigned as coach of the Ghana national team, the Black Stars, primenewsghana.com can report.
Grant resigned after amicable meeting with Ghana Football Association (GFA) boss, Kwesi Nyantakyi.
The former Chelsea coach had a month left on his contract with the GFA.
Grant said in a statement that the time was right for him to move on to newer challenges and that he had enjoyed his tenure as Ghana coach.
"I've hugely enjoyed my time in Ghana taking over after the disastrous 2014 World Cup campaign and rebuilding the squad to reach the final in the African Cup of Nations for only the second time in 23 years, and also the semi final of this year's competition.
"I'm proud of the fact that I'm leaving an extremely professional, strong squad of players of a good age, who I'm sure will go on to achieve great success in the future," he said.
He said he would also miss the passion and dedication of the Ghana football fans.
The former Chelsea coach took Ghana to the final of the 2015 AFCON but failed to achieve further success with the team.
His performance at the AFCON 2017 tournament, where Ghana was booted out in the semi-finals, has been sharply criticised by Ghanaian football fans, who called for his sack.
