Ghana has been placed in Group A alongside hosts Egypt, Morocco, and Tanzania in the 2024 edition of the Beach Soccer AFCON, which will be staged from October 19-24, 2024.

The draw for the tournament took place on Thursday afternoon in Cairo, setting the stage for an electrifying tournament scheduled to be held in the city of Hurghada, Egypt.

The Black Sharks will face hosts Egypt in a match that promises to be exciting on the opening day of the competition.

Ghana's next Group A match is scheduled for October 21 against Morocco, before the game against Tanzania in the last game of the Group stage.

After an eight-year absence from the continental stage, the Black Sharks will be aiming to advance from the group stage of the competition.

"We respect all our opponents, but we are ready to showcase our talent and aim for the best in the tournament."

"I am confident that my team can match up against the other teams in Group A, and we have what it takes to compete against the best on the continent,"  Head Coach of the Black Sharks Daniel Kotey said after Thursday's draw.

The winner and runner-up of the AFCON will receive tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025, which will be held in Seychelles, the home of the 24 eligible nations, in Africa for the first time ever.

The winner and the runner-up of the AFCON will secure tickets to the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2025, set to take place in Africa for the very first time when Seychelles plays host to the 24 qualified nations from across the world next year.
