Ghana's female senior national team, Black Queens will receive $32k for winning the WAFU Zone B Women's Championship held in Ivory Coast last month.
This was made known by the Minister of Youth and Sports Isaac Asiamah in a media interaction held on Tuesday, March 13, 2018, in Accra.
The Minster said each member of the Black Queens will receive an amount of at least $1,000.
The Black Queens led by coach Mercy Tagoe defied all odds and won the maiden edition of the competition.
The Black Queens lost their opening game against host Ivory Coast but went on to win their subsequent group games.
A final clash with the host again, was enough motivation for the team as they recorded a sweet revenge by beating them 1-0 to win the tournament.
