Black Stars technical team involved in accident on Tarkwa-Takoradi road

Black Stars head coach Otto Addo and two of his assistant coaches, John Paintsil and Fatau Dauda, have survived a horrific accident.

The accident occurred on the Tarkwa-Takoradi road on Saturday, August 31, 2024, while they were traveling to Accra after watching a match between Ghana Premier League champions FC Samartex and Ghana FA Cup holders Nsoatreman.

Social media images revealed the extensive damage to their vehicle, with goalkeepers' trainer Fatau Dauda seen walking past the wreckage.

Otto Addo, John Paintsil and Fatawu Dauda were returning from Tarkwa after watching the Champion of Champions clash between Nsoatreman and Samartex

The trio had watched the game at the renovated TNA Sports Stadium and were en route to Accra to start preparations for Ghana’s opening 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.

The Black Stars are set to kick off their qualifying campaign against Angola on Thursday, September 5, 2024, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
