Asante Kotoko lost their second game of the CAF Confederation Cup group stage campaign on Sunday to Nkana FC in Kitwe, Zambia.

The Porcupine Warriors coach C.K Akonnor has admitted his disappointment following a 3-1 defeat to Nkana at the Nkana Stadium in the match-day three of the competition.

The Reds struggled throughout the game with Nkana capitalizing on defensive blunders by defenders on the day to stretch their unbeaten run to 58 in CAF club competitions.

C.K Akonnor in a post-match conference blamed his side's defeat to his back four stating that they lacked understanding.

“Today the match was won on one difference; which was our defensive department, we lacked the understanding of our opponent’s aerial balls,” Kotoko coach Charles Akunnor said after the match.

Asante Kotoko have conceded in all but one game in their CAF Confederations Cup campaign so far with 9 goals conceded in 7 outings scoring 8 in the process.

The match handed the Zambian giants a successive win to complete a perfect six-pointer at home after a 2-1 win over Hilal a fortnight ago.

Nkana coach Beston Chambeshi, on the other hand, expressed delight after bagging the maximum six points from their back-to-back home games as the competition reaches the halfway mark.

“Kotoko are a good team and it wasn't easy for us but I am happy with the way the boys have come out after losing the derby in the league to our rivals Power Dynamos. We prepared very well for this game and the win shows we can fight back and play at any level," Chambeshi said.

Nkana have six points from three games, Kotoko have 3 heading into the two sides return leg date on March 3 in Kumasi after sustaining their second successive away loss in Group C.
