 Antonio Rudiger has become the latest Chelsea player to touch down in Ghana for a visit after Callum Hudson-Odoi.

The German defender on Monday arrived in the West African country in the company of former Chelsea and Black Stars coach Avram Grant.

The duo who arrived on Monday will spend few days in Ghana before leaving.

Rudiger is expected to return to London in three days' time to join his Chelsea teammates for pre-season.

The Sierra Leone descent has been given an extended break by Thomas Tuchel following his involvement with the German national team at the 2020 European Championship.

Rudiger played full throttle during Germany’s 2-0 loss against great adversaries England in the Round of 16 last Tuesday.

It would be recalled that Callum Hudson-Odoi another Chelsea player was in Ghana last month for holiday. His visit included paying a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo as well as attending some of the Ghana Premier League matches.

In one of the games involving Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko, the attacker was gifted a customized awarded Phobian jersey.

Avram Grant handled the west Africans between 2014 and 2017, leading the side to the final of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations, where they lost to Cote d'Ivoire on penalties two months into his reign.

He also guided the team to the semi-final of the continental showpiece at the 2017 edition. The Black Stars finished fourth in the competition after losing to Burkina Faso in the third-place match.

He managed the likes of Chelsea, Portsmouth and West Ham United prior to landing the Ghana job
