Callum Hudson-Odoi’s stock continues to rise and his Chelsea team-mate Willian wants a piece of the action.
The 18-year-old was in scintillating form in his second start of the season against PAOK in the Europa League on Thursday night but Chelsea face a serious battle to keep hold of him as he considers his future away from Stamford Bridge.
Not satisfied with the amount of playing time he’s getting under Maurizio Sarri, Hudson-Odoi has refused to put pen to paper on a new five-year deal and he is attracting attention from Europe’s biggest clubs including Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.
Willian is under no illusions just how good the Chelsea academy graduate is and believes he can become one of the best players on the planet. And he’s even offered to become Hudson-Odoi’s agent, according to the Daily Mail.
When asked if Chelsea need to keep hold of him, Willian replied: "Of course. We know he has great quality. We knew already before that he can come easy and play for Chelsea. He is only 18. I think he has time to learn, time to play. For sure he will be one of the best players.
"He has the potential. He has talent, he has everything to become in the future one of the best players. Now it’s early to say that. But maybe in five years we can see."Â
"Sometimes it’s difficult. Because you want to show everything in one game. You want to take the ball, want to dribble, want to shoot, want to run, want to everything as much as possible to show your quality, to show everything. ‘Sometimes you make mistakes in that but you have time to learn. He is only 18 and I think he has a lot of time to learn."
Hudson-Odoi has played just five games in all competitions this season despite featuring prominently in pre-season for the Blues.
