The Minister for Trade, Agribusiness, and Industry, Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, paid a visit to His Royal Majesty Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in the Ashanti Region.
The purpose of the visit was for the hon. minister to officially introduce herself to the Asantehene as the Minister in charge of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry and asked for the King’s blessings and prayers to be able to deliver her mandate.
The Minister also briefed the Asantehene about the government’s Industrialization agenda and how it intends to transform the Suame Magazine Industrial enclave to attract more investors into the country.
In addition, the Minister informed the Asantehene about a lingering litigation over the designated land for the Greater Kumasi Industrial City Project and asked for the King’s intervention in dealing with the issue.
The Asantehe expressed his delight at the Minster’s appointment, adding that the work she did as the former Tourism Minister speaks volume about her diligence. He, however, promised to address the litigation issues surrounding the Greater Kumasi Industrial City Project to pave way for it to commence.
She was accompanied by the regional minister, Hon. Dr. Frank Amoakohene, the Chief Director, Mr. Noah Tumfo, and other officials from the ministry.
