Late Sports journalist, Christopher Opoku, will be buried on Saturday, 15th July, 2017.

Christopher, 42, who had been battling with cancer in the last four years died on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 in a London hospital .

According to the family, he will be laid in state on July 15, 2017 at KNUST Swimming Pool Park and buried at Domiabra, Asante Akyem.

The funeral is scheduled to take place between 1pm and 6pm same day.

Christopher Opoku was born in Scotland, started as the host of a gospel show on Kumasi-based Luv FM.

He is an alumni of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in Kumasi.

Opoku became one of Ghana's most popular sports journalists and worked with Asempa FM and Power FM where he hosted their morning sports shows.

He worked with Accra-based Metro TV before joining Citi FM for a brief period as a news editor and also had a brief stint with GTV.

Christopher was the General manager of the Ghana League Clubs Association(GHALCA) in 2013.He was named Best Football Commentator and Best Football Journalist (PLB) in 2008 and 2009.

Chris was also known for his strong passion for gospel music and even went on to release a single. He left behind a wife and three children.
