Crystal Palace boss, Roy Hodgson has fired back at Andre Ayew who says his younger brother Jordan Ayew does not get the recognition he deserves.

Jordan, 27, joined the Eagles in the permanent transfer during the summer transfer window and due to his impressive form, he was crowned Palace player of the Month for August.

But the Black Stars skipper believes his brother is an unsung hero who is not duly recognised for the hard work he puts in his work.

“He (his brother Jordan) is someone who works hard and he's never got the recognition he deserves and I think now, bit by bit, people are starting to recognise his work”, he told BBC.

However, Roy Hodgson believes Andre Ayew's comments were not directed at his outfit as Jordan is treated with the respect he deserves.

“I’m not sure who he’s (Andre Ayew) talking of when he says who isn’t appreciating him (Jordan),” Hodgson said.

“It certainly wouldn’t be a fair comment in regards to ourselves here, myself, the coaching staff, players.

“We have an enormous amount of respect for him and count ourselves lucky to have him with us.

“I feel quite comfortable in saying that the quote has no relevance here at Crystal Palace.

“We certainly has the full respect of his talents, and that’s shown – he’s playing every game!”

Jordan Ayew has scored two goals and has registered an assist for Palace in the 2019/20 Premier League season.
