President of Elmina Sharks FC Dr Papa Kwesi Nduom has been slapped with a fine of GH¢10,000 for misconduct in a Division One League game played on Sunday, February 16.

He has also been handed a suspended three-month ban.

The former Presidential Candidate was found guilty of breaching Articles 34(1)(a), 34(1)(b) and 34(6)(d) of the GFA Division One League Regulations, 2019.

Dr Nduom is said to have entered the inner perimeter without authorisation in Elmina Sharks’ Zone 2 game against Swedru All Blacks.

He is said to have entered the area to protest a penalty awarded their opponents.

His post-match social media commentary was also said to have incited players, officials and fans of Elmina Sharks against match officials.

All these actions on the part of the club owner-cum-politician are said to have led to violence against the match officials.

Already, the club has been fined GH¢20,000 and five officials handed bans for the rest of the season aside GH¢10,000 fines each.

Aside the sanctions, Dr Nduom has been warned “that any further misconduct will attract severe sanctions”.

Elmina Sharks are currently placed 10th in Zone 2 of the 2024/25 Division One League.
