In his farewell message, Felix Annan revealed out he has been in touch with management to arrive at a decision to part ways. He went further to thank Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the club faithful and the management for the love shown to him during his stay.
"In the last couple of weeks, I gave been engaged in very emotional conversation with Management and the Board of Directors concerning my future."
After several consultations, it was resolved that my desire to continue my career path elsewhere after 10 years of dedicated service to Asante Kotoko be respected by all involved," an official statement by the goalkeeper read.
"I thank HM Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Board and Management, the technical team, the playing body, the fans and the entire Kotoko fraternity for the support throughout my years with the greatest club in Ghana.
"I will forever cherish my time with the family. Long live Asante Kotoko. Fabulous! Kum Apem a Apem Beba!!!!"
Felix Annan joined the Porcupine Warriors in 2011 as a teenager from Gomoa Fetteh Feyenoord Academy and rose through the ranks to become the club’s captain.
However, he fell out of favour with the club’s former coach Maxwell Konadu last season and although Konadu was sacked, Annan later fell out with the club’s top hierarchy.
He thus lost his place to Kwame Baah and later Razak Abalora and that affected his involvement in the senior national team.
Although Annan stayed on and tried to fight for a starting place in Kotoko’s squad, it proved fruitless and he has decided to leave the club after ten years.Â
