Ghana captain, Asamoah Gyan has been wearing the number 3 shirt since came into the limelight.
For a striker who is Ghana's top scorer and Africa's all-time top scorer at the World Cup, one would have thought the number 9 shirt would have been more appropriate but Gyan has his own reasons.
According to the Mirror UK, when asked why he preferred to wear the number 3 jersey, Gyan said:
“Three is the shirt I wore as a teenager in Ghana. It is a powerful number. If you are lifting something heavy, you count to three before you lift. If you want to warn someone, you warn them once, then twice and the third time you take action.â€
