Head Coach of Black Meteors Ibrahim Tanko has hinted on inviting foreign-based players to augment his squad ahead his side's African U-23 Championship qualifier against Togo.
The Meteors were defeated 3-0 in a friendly game against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium yesterday and it did not go well for the ex-Ghana international.
Speaking to the media after the game the first assistant coach of Black Stars hinted on beefing up the squad with the addition of some foreign-based players.
“We are going to have some foreign players in the team. This game has given me a fair idea about the team and the players we can work on. Because we only have nine days to prepare for the game. With the foreign and the local players I think we can build a good teamâ€

Ibrahim Tanko also hinted on another friendly game before the qualifiers against Togo.
“I think by two or three days I will have some of the foreign-based players who are already here. And then others will join few days before the game. If I have those who are here and I think we need friendly games definitely we have to play all friendly game before the Togo gameâ€
Ibrahim Tanko conceded his team needs to improve on their finishing ahead of their encounter against Togo.
The Black Meteors will host Togo on December 18, 2018, at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi and the second leg in Lomé four days later.
