Former Accra Hearts of Oak captain Thomas Abbey has completed a move to Egyptian side Ismaily ending a possible return to the Phobians.
The player had earlier had trials with South African Premier League side Ajax Cape Town but failed to secure a move.
The 24-year-old finalised his move to the Ismaïlia-based side on a free transfer, after passing his mandatory medical at the club on Wednesday evening, reports say.
Details of the contract are not known but Abbey joins his Ghanaian compatriot Richard Baffour.
His new move brings to an end a six years relationship with Accra Hearts of oak, a team he joined from division one side Windy Professionals.
Abbey was the highest goal scorer for the Phobians in the 2016/17 league season, with 13 goals in 28 appearances for the club.
The midfielder undoubtedly was Hearts of Oak’s best player, having won four man-of-the-match awards with 15 goals in all competitions.
The attacking midfielder was also part of the Black Star B squad that won the 2017Fox Wafu tournament in which Coach Maxwell Konadu shifted him to the left back position.
