Twenty (20) Ghanaian referees have received FIFA badges for 2019 at Shekinah Glory Hotel at Sogakope in the Volta region on Saturday, January 26, 2019.
Six Male referees, Six assistant referees, and four Female referees and four assistant referees received their FIFA badge in a five-day event which was Organized by the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in Collaboration with Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) and FIFA saw three FIFA instructors, Boubakar Hannachi (Tunisia), An Yan Lim Kee Chong (Mauritius) and Onias Felix Tangawarima (Zimbabwe) as the resource persons.
150 Ghanaian referees took part in the Course at West Africa Football Academy (WAFA) Complex at Sogakope but only 20 were given the FIFA badges.The referees were taken through a fitness test and also they were taken through a lecture on integrity (Match manipulation) and also the laws of the game on the first day.
On the second day, they were taken through Presentation, challenge tactical fouls, positioning and reading.
The third day, the referees were taken through a lecture and discussion on penalty Area/Handball/positioning and Reading as well as integrated Practical training session with the WAFA players.
The fourth and the final day, there were a lecture on offside/Management and the mini-match with the players as well.
