Ghana Premier League week 9 wrap: Heart of Lions stun Kotoko in Obuasi

Asante Kotoko SC suffered their first defeat at home in the Premier League after losing 1-0 against Heart of Lions on Sunday November 3, 2024.

Kwadwo Obeng Junior's strike in the 28th minute separated the two teams at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

Kotoko had the lion’s share of the possession but it mattered little when the final whistle blew.

The Porcupine Warriors have slipped to third in the table after being overtaken in second position by Nations FC.

Gold Stars FC dropped points at home after drawing 0-0 against Dreams FC the Duns Park in Bibiani on Sunday.

Vision FC dropped points at home again after drawing 0-0 against Aduana FC on Sunday.

The two teams settled for a point each after the pulsating draw at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.

Nations FC continued their fine form with a vital 1-0 win at Karela United FC to go second in the Premier League table.

Red-hot Faisal Charwetey's 75th minute strike separated the two teams at the Tamale Sports Stadium.

Nations have jumped to second in the table with 16 points, three behind leaders Gold Stars FC.
