The management of Hearts of Oak have written to the Ghana Football Association (GFA) asking for their match against Legon Cities to be rescheduled.

In a letter signed by the Assistant Operations Officer, Amenu Desmond Worlanyo, the Phobians are calling for their matchday 30 fixture against the Royals on Thursday, June 24 to be pushed to a different date.

"The management of Accra Hearts of Oak SC wish to respectfully request your office to consider changing the fixture date of our game against Legon Cities which has been fixed for Thursday, 24th June, 2021," a protion reads.

According to Hearts of Oak, they are asking for the clash to postponed because of the 48hour rest they would get before the 'big game' against Asante Kotoko.

This is 24 hours less than their rivals Kotoko would get before the duo clash on matchday 31. Kotoko are scheduled to take on Karela United on Wednesday, June 23 at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi.

The letter adds: "We strongly believe that for the sake of bringing back the love and purposes of fair play which is the mantra of the game, we wish that our game against Legon Cities should be postponed to give us equal time schedule to prepare for the big against Asante Kotoko on Sunday."

"With Kotoko playing on Wednesday afternoon, they will have 72-hour rest period ahead of our clash whilst we will have a 42hour rest period if we should play on Thursday."

Hearts of Oak will host Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 3:00pm. The duo played a goalless draw game in the first leg on February 28.
