Homowo Cup: Hearts of Oak agree to play Great Olympics

Hearts of Oak have agreed to play the Homowo Cup match with Accra Great Olympics after earlier cancelling the clash.

The regional rivals were billed to play each other on September 15 but Hearts of Oak pulled out of the game.

According to the continental club masters, the decision to pull of the game was because organisers of the said match were unable to honour their promise.

”The management of Accra Hearts of Oak and Great Olympics have agreed to play the 2019 Homowo Cup and have subsequently taken over its organization. The match which was expected to be played at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, September 15, 2019 was cancelled after organizers were unable to fulfill their side of the agreement to Hearts and Olympics.

All further details as agreed upon will be communicated to all as we conclude our discussion”

The game is part of the Homowo festival celebrated by the Ga’s.

The Phoabian club have further provided an update on their last Sunday clash against Kotoko in the President Cup which was rained off.

The statement reads "We are grateful to all Phobians for their unflinching support for the team before and during the President Cup match with Kotoko on Sunday, September 8, 2019.

GHALCA, the organizers of the Cup match is in talks with Hearts and Kotoko on fixing a new date after last Sunday's game was rained off.

Further details will be communicated to all as soon as we conclude on our discussion."
