Great Olympics coach Godwin Attram has rejected a position to assist newly appointed head coach Tom Strand at the club and still maintains his position as coach despite the appointment of Strand by  the management of the club.

Attram has vehemently reiterated his position as the head coach of the club, insisting that he would never be an assistant coach to the Swedish trainer.

Management of Olympics on Tuesday confirmed the appointment of the former Medeama trainer as head coach with Godwin Attram as assistant.

“I will not be an assistant coach to Tom Strand, no way!.We are training at fire service park and he (Tom Strand) can come there since that is where the team trains. If really, he has signed a contract, he should come there, I am still the coach", he insisted.

He stressed that he has also invested in the team and could not be demoted by virtue of Tom Strand's appointment as head coach.

"The shareholders signed the coach as they claimed because, they have the money but I also spent money when the team was in division one and I also helped the team to qualify to the Premier League so it is not only the shareholders who were instrumental in the team’s qualification, we are stakeholders of the club so we also have rights”, he stated.

Great Olympics have been poor in the ongoing Ghana Premier League with some management members blaming Attram for the woes of the club which led to the appointment of former Medeama SC coach Tom Strand.
