Ghana Premier League club, Hearts of Oak is celebrating its 110th anniversary and Asante Kotoko have put rivalry aside by celebrating their bitter foes.

The Rainbow club the oldest club in the country turned 110 today, November 11, and their bitterest rival have taken to social media to eulogize the 1911 club.

"๐™ƒ๐˜ผ๐™‹๐™‹๐™” 110th ๐˜ฝ๐™„๐™๐™๐™ƒ๐˜ฟ๐˜ผ๐™” to our rivals Accra Hearts of Oak!!," Kotoko tweeted

Other Premier League clubs have also joined to salute Hearts of Oak on its anniversary.


The club was formed in Ghana on November 11, 1911 by a group of young men led by Christopher Brandford Nettey (later Asafoatse Nettey), a war leader of the Ga State in the colonial times and his other colleagues, Simon-Okraku brothers (Adolf, Alfred and Wilhelm), J.T .O Ankrah, J.A Aryee, Dodoo Annang, Darku Abbey, Mark Nettey, the Solomon duo (Amponsah and Kwashie), the Bruce-Tagoe brothers (W.W and T.F), Willie Ocran, TF Wilson, JDK Botwe, FD Amoo, Peter Malm and Quarshie Coker, Akom Duncan, all players of the team.

Hearts of Oak is the only club in Ghana that has won all the three continental competitions (CAF Champions League, CAF Confederation Cup and the CAF Super Cup.

Hearts of Oak have won the Premier League twenty-one times, the FA Cup a recordย eleven times, the President's Cup twice, and the CAF African Champions League and the CAF Confederations Cup each once.
