Asante Kotoko coach Prosper Narteh Ogum has opened up on his desire to handle the Black Stars in the future when the opportunity arrives and he's available.

The former WAFA coach, however, is not willing to leave current side Kotoko at the moment.

The Porcupines returned to winning ways over the weekend and lie top of the table with 36 points after the end of the first round with a game in hand against rivals Hearts of Oak.

It took Kotoko 21 games to get 35 points last season and the statistics show what a remarkable job Prosper Narteh is doing with the Reds.

His job has attracted the attention of former GFA President Nyaho Nyaho Tamakloe who stated he should be considered for the Black Stars job following the GFA decision to announce Otto Addo as the Black Stars coach with Chris Hughton as the Technical Advisor.

Reacting to this, Prosper Narteh admitted that he would jump at the chance to manage the Black Stars when the opportunity comes in the future and he is available.

"...  he has seen what I am doing and per his astuteness, we know him to be following football for over decades. So I think per his experience and what he has seen about me and being there as a former GFA President and with the Black Stars and knowing the dynamics of what goes in at the Black Stars. Probably that is making him to take that informed decision about me," he opined.

When asked if it is a job he is eyeing he said: "It is a national call and when the day comes and I am available I think once it's a national duty we will all rise up to the call."

The GFA last week appointed Otto Addo as the Black Stars coach for the two-legged World Cup qualifier affair against Nigeria with former Newcastle United and Brighton and Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton as his Technical Advisor.

In a statement the country's football governing body said others members of the new Technical team include George Boateng and Mas-Ud Didi Dramani.

The Black Stars will take on the Super Eagles at the Cape Coast stadium on Thursday, March 24 before travelling to Nigeria for the 2nd leg at the Abuja Sports stadium on Sunday, March 27, 2022.
