Mali has defended their U-17 African Youth Championship after beating the Black Starlets of Ghana by a lone goal in the final game.
The Malians scored the only goal of the match in the 22nd minute through a penalty rebound and maintained their scoreline to win the ultimate trophy.
Ghana went into the game hoping to win the trophy after a blistering start of the competition but had to settle for silver as they look forward to the U-17 World Cup in India later this year.
The Malians were the better side on the night as they dominated possession and overpowered the Ghanaians with the height and strength.
They also created better scoring opportunities including another penalty which was saved by the Ghanaian goalkeeper.
Both teams alongside the other two semi finalists would be heading to the World Cup, hoping to make Africa proud at the event.
