Captain of Medeama SC, Joseph Tetteh-Zutah has added his voice to players lamenting on how the halt on officially organised football activities is greatly affecting them.
Officially organised football activities were brought to hold following a documentary by ace investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas dubbed 'Number' which exposed bad practices in the game.Â
FIFA in conjunction with the government instituted the Normalization Committee to run the daily affairs of the GFA, reform the statues and organise elections.Â
The instituted Normalization Committee proposed a special competition to keep clubs busy as the reformation of Ghana goes on.
The special competition which was originally supposed to begin on January 26, was postponed 3 times and eventually cancelled last Monday due to disagreements between the Premier League clubs and the Normalization Commission.
In an interview with Accra-based Happy FM, Joseph Tetteh-Zutah stated that the lack of football activities is having a major impact on the players.
“Lack of active football is affecting us greatly because we can’t keep our fitness and form, we have family members that we take care of."
"Financially and physically we are suffering greatly because there are no football activities in Ghana," he told Happy FM.
“We were preparing for the special competition until the news came that the competition has been cancelled, but we are still in camp and training as players awaiting the final decision". he ended.
Medeams SC was lying first on the 2018/2019 Ghana Premier League with 27 points with 15 matches played before the league was truncated.
